Listening Power Grades 4-8+ is a thoughtfully designed application aimed at supporting students in grades 4 through 8 and beyond. Developed by Patti Hamaguchi, a licensed speech-language pathologist, the app emphasizes key aspects of language processing, including grammar, vocabulary, narrative comprehension, and question understanding, alongside auditory processing skills such as auditory memory, auditory closure, and auditory figure-ground discrimination. This tool serves as a valuable supplement for speech, language, or auditory therapy interventions.

The app features five core activities, offering over 150 questions divided into the following categories:

• Listening for Grammar (Identifying correct sentence structure)
• Listening for Meaning (Understanding the significance of statements)
• Listening for Fast Sentences (Processing rapid speech)
• Listening for Missing Sounds (Detecting omitted phonemes)
• Listening for Stories (Answering questions about comprehended narratives; includes optional visual and background noise distractions)

An auto-advance feature adjusts the difficulty level dynamically based on user performance. The app allows customization of text display to facilitate reading decoding and comprehension practice, with options to enable or disable text. Users can select between two, three, or four answer choices and choose from Easy, Intermediate, or Advanced levels within the settings menu.
